Algebra 1The Algebra classroom is based upon mutual respect among students and the teacher. In this class students will solve algebraic equations and apply them to real world situations. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions and complete homework and projects on time in order to be successful in the classroom.
The Algebra students are currently working on converting between fractions and decimals. They have recently been assigned a project where they will have take measurements of 10 objects around their house, and convert the fractional measurements to decimal form. |
News & Accomplishments- Some of the students from my Personal Finance classes placed first in the effective budgeting competition at the local Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) seminar held last week in Fargo.
- The math department has recently finished up a fund raiser for the local Fill the Bus Campaign. The students had a goal to raise $1,000 more dollars than last year. The students exceeded their goal raising $1,500 more than last year. It is great to see the student ambitious about helping out with the local Fill the Bus Campaign. |
Personal FinanceThe Personal Finance classroom is based upon mutual respect among students and the teacher. In this class students will learn about different types of income and expenses and how to organize incomes and expenses in order to be financially satisfied in their day to day lives. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussion and complete homework and projects on time in order to be successful in the classroom.
The Personal Finance students are currently learning about how to choose between different loan options, and which one is the best suit for them and their budget. The students will have an upcoming group project where they will have to contact two separate banks on getting a car loan and determine which option is best for them. Each student in the group will then write a one page explanation on which is the better option and why. |
